There is no such thing as zero risk. We therefore do everything we can to guarantee the highest level of security. Our teams are trained to ensure the safety of our connected solutions. Our offers use a full range of state-of-the-art security mechanisms and regular audits are performed on the whole chain.

When we refer to security at Somfy, it includes:​

  • Security of the device itself including jamming detection for the alarm systems.​.
  • Security of radio protocols used for communication between devices​.
  • Security of Somfy applications used to check equipment and security of data stored on servers.
  • Server security is constantly monitored to detect hacking and system intrusions.

Our cameras respect your private life

When you choose Somfy, you benefit not only from the latest generation of cameras, but you are also guaranteed that your privacy is respected.

  • When you’re at home, our cameras stop filming​.
    They have a motorised protection shutter that you can close using your app whenever you like. Even better, you can program the shutter to close automatically when you return home and disarm your system.
  • If there is an intruder, our cameras record everything​.
    As soon as our cameras detect movement, they record for 30 seconds. The videos are available for free and can be downloaded from the Somfy Protect app for a week.

Keep calm

You decide even about our partners

You can decide at any time to cut the link between the Somfy server and external services provided by our partners.​

There are two ways to remove the link:​

  • Either you remove the partner service’s equipment (Philips Hue, Sonos…) from the TaHoma® application.​
  • Or you connect to the partner’s account management page (Amazon Alexa, IFTTT or Google Assistant for example), and you disable access to your Somfy account.​

Regarding voice assistants, each voice service company has their own security policy. The choice is yours as to which Somfy equipment your voice assistant has access to, if you decide to provide access at all.​​

STAY IN CONTROL

Even when there is no internet ! With Somfy’s solutions, your residence is still protected and safe.

For TaHoma® and Connexoon boxes

If the internet or your domestic router fails, you will not be able to check equipment from your smartphone, but your local switches and remote controls will still function.

For connected door locks

If there is a problem with the internet, you can always use your smartphone to lock and unlock your door locally, using the Bluetooth connection. Only remote control will no longer work. And metal keys, which are always provided, will always work.

Even in countries outside the European Union that are not covered by this regulation and where we offer connected solutions, we aim to apply the highest applicable standards.

At any time, you can ask to have all or part of your data erased. However, some data may be required to Somfy connected products. In this instance, we will inform you about the consequences of this request.

Secure your smartphone

We highly recommend that you create a password so that no one can access your phone and applications, and from them, your residence.

If you have lost your smartphone and you want to change the password you use for your Somfy application, you can do it by yourself, 24 hours a day, from your online Somfy account. You can also call our office during opening hours to change your password or disable your account.

Secure your Wi-Fi connection

Some of our products require a Wi-Fi connection to function properly. We strongly recommend using a password to access your Wi-Fi. The password increases security to the same level as an ethernet connection.
